AWS (Amazon Web Services) is a cloud computing platform that offers a large variety of services. It is widely used and supported, intuitive, and has services available for nearly any application. We use AWS for things like hosting applications with AWS App Runner or Elastic Kubernetes Service, running databases with their Relational Database Service, hosting files on S3 buckets, sending emails through their Simple Email Service, and managing identity and access management (IAM) with AWS Cognito.
